Ms. Marcia Bibb

I am Marcia Bibb, one of the School Counselors for the California Middle School.  I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Culver-Stockton College.  After earning my Bachelor’s degree I spent twelve years working for the Missouri Division of Children’s Services both as a social worker and a supervisor.  While working as a supervisor at the Children’s Division, I completed my Master of Education in Counseling.  I have more than 15 years experience as a school counselor. I spent one year working at California High School.  I have spent the rest of the time at California Middle School as well as spending several years splitting my time between the California Middle School and California Elementary School.

I work with all four grade levels at the Middle School, however my current focus is 6th and 8th grade.  I focus on Career Development,(job skills and identifying areas of career interest using student strengths)  Academic Development (improving school skills), Personal Development (making safe and healthy choices) and Social Development (improving and maintaining peer relationships) when meeting with students. I meet with students  individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.

I work collaboratively with teachers, parents and other professionals as needed to ensure students are achieving to the best of their abilities. I am one of the case managers for the 504 program at the middle school.  I also am one of three sponsors for the middle school peer helper program.

I enjoy my job tremendously and want to help all students become successful adults.  I want to assist them in overcoming challenges and be there to help celebrate successes.
