California Middle School strives to create a student-centered environment that provides our students with the tools necessary to become productive citizens who will make a positive impact in society. We embrace our district’s motto of “equipping today’s children for tomorrow’s challenges” by striving to maximize each student’s learning potential. The Middle School also offers a wide variety of enrichment opportunities including various clubs, athletics, and activities with the goal of developing the total student.

Building and maintaining a strong partnership with parents is paramount to our success as an educational institution. Our staff has a goal of fostering positive relationships while providing challenging curriculum to all of our of students.

I am entering my first year as the Principal at California Middle School after having served as the CMS Assistant Principal the past three years. In that time, I have been incredibly impressed with our staff, our students and our community!

Operation Bugle Boy Letter Writing Competition Winners!
Operation Bugle Boy is a community-based nonprofit organization that honors and supports military veterans, first responders, and their families through educational events and appreciation activities. Founded in 2001 in Jefferson City, MO, following 9/11, the organization promotes community appreciation for service members and now involves students from multiple local schools.
Our district participated in their “I’m Writing You This Letter” competition — and we are proud to announce that two of our students were selected as overall winners in their categories! 🎉

Amelia Motley (12th Grade)
Operation Bugle Boy will be sending a donation to K9S On The Frontline in each of their names. Lilly and Amelia will also receive a plaque and certificate recognizing their achievement during the Operation Bugle Boy Advisory Board Meeting on December 9th at VFW Post 1003 in St. Martins at 5:30 PM.
We’d also like to recognize the following students whose outstanding letters earned them certificates of recognition:
