Beginning band rental night for the middle school will take place Thursday, September 9, 5:30pm-7:30pm, in the middle school band room.

Middle school football practice will take place August 16-September 6, 6:30pm-8:00pm, at the HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FIELD....except for August 20, August 27 and September 3 which will be 6:00am-7:30am, at the high school football field and August 30 which will be 6:30am-8:00am at the high school football field. Once school starts, practices will be at the middle school practice field 3:00-5:30pm.

Middle School cheer practice will take place 11:00am-12:00pm at the high school on the following dates: August 16, 18, 20, 24, 25, 30 and September 1. Practice on August 31 is 10:00am-11:00am, at the high school. Practice on September 2 will be at the high school football field, 6:30pm-7:30pm. Practices on September 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22 and 23 will be in the middle school gym, 6:45am-7:45am, before school.

Middle school softball practice will be held August 16-September 6, 5:00pm-7:00pm, at the middle school softball field. Beginning September 8, practices will be daily, 3:20-5:20pm.

Middle school cross country practice will take place at the Cargill ball diamonds August 23-27, 10:00am-11:30am. Starting August 30, practices will be daily, 3:20pm-5:00pm, at the high school track. Middle schoolers may ride the transfer bus over to the high school.

The elementary and middle school gyms will be closed May 7 through September 7 for summer storage of classrooms under construction.

The first day of school for California R. 1 Schools is Tuesday, September 7. Elementary and Middle schools will begin classes at 7:50am. The High school will begin classes at 7:45am. We have missed you!!!

Open House for grades 5 through 8 will take place at the middle school on Tuesday, August 31, 5pm-7pm. Attendance at Open House is optional. Schedules and locker assignments will NOT be available at open house. The purpose of open house is so that students may visit the teachers in their classrooms. Students WILL be able to look around the building and place items in their lockers at this time.

Middle school volleyball tryouts will take place Monday, August 16 through Wednesday, August 18, 1:00pm-3:00pm in the high school gym. Tryouts are open for any student entering 7th or 8th grade this coming school year. Students MUST have a sports physical before beginning tryouts on Monday, August 16. Physicals can be turned in to the middle school office or to Coach Zbinden the first day of tryouts, before beginning tryouts. August 19, practice will be 10:00am-12:00pm at the high school. August 20-27, practice will be 1:00pm-3:00pm at the high school.

The Moniteau County Health Department will be at registration on Wednesday, 8/25 and Thursday, 8/26. They will be offering the required booster shots for all incoming 8th graders. In addition, they will be offering the Covid Vaccine for parents and student over the age of 12 who wish to receive it (this is voluntary).

Middle School registration for the 2021-2022 school year will take place August 23, 24, 25 and 26 at the middle school. 5th and 7th grades will register on August 23, 7am-3pm and August 24, 10am-6pm. 6th and 8th grades will register on August 25, 7am-3pm and August 26, 10am-6pm. ATTENDANCE AT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Students and parents will complete needed paperwork and pick up schedules, which include locker assignments. Students will also pick up their Chromebooks during registration. Students WILL NOT be able to place items in their lockers or look around the building at this time. If you are unable to register in person at the scheduled time, contact the middle school at 573-796-2146 to make other arrangements.

Band Camp will take place July 26-30, 2021, 8:00am-12:00pm, at the high school. A second camp will take place August 16-20, 2021, 8:00am-4:00pm, also at the high school. Band members should plan to attend both camps. This includes incoming freshmen.

MSHSAA's summer dead week will be June 26, 2021-July 4, 2021. Fall Sports dead week will be August 2-August 8, 2021.
