It is a very exciting time to be a California Pinto! I’m extremely proud to be part of the California Middle School Team as assistant principal as well as my role as our district’s activities director. Our middle school staff works diligently to help students achieve academically and to promote learning, cooperation, and responsibility. Students are also provided opportunities to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities. Over the past few years we have made multiple upgrades to our district’s facilities. California boasts a state of the art 610 seat performing arts center. Our football facility seats 2000, has a field turf surface, and an upgraded scoreboard/video board. California’s Softball/Baseball facility is one of the few turf stadiums in Central Missouri. The high school gym can accommodate 1800 fans for volleyball and basketball contests. Halftime shows include high quality entertainment by our dance squad, band, color guard, and cheer squad. Our award winning choir performs our National Anthem before games. Our band and choir perform concerts in our performing arts center to full crowds. We have very talented kids participating in extra and co-curricular activities. Catch a game and a half time performance and you can see the California Pintos excelling in many different activities. California High School also competes in math contests, speech contests, and scholar bowl.
In my 19 years as an employee of California Schools I have enjoyed watching the growth and improvements of our district. Improvements made in facilities, curriculum, and development help our students achieve and be successful. I’m proud to live in California and have my children attend school here. I’m looking forward to the future and being part of the growth that takes place.
