MS Football Game Update – Thursday, September 3
For Thursday’s Middle School Football games, we will be pushing the start time back to 6:00 p.m.
At 6:00 p.m., we will check the wet bulb reading to determine whether conditions are safe for play. If the reading is still too high, we will wait until it drops to an appropriate level before beginning the games.
Please keep in mind that any delay is being made with the health and safety of our players and officials as our top priority. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we monitor the conditions.

🎉 FUN FACT FRIDAY – Middle School Edition! 🎉
Did you know... 🤔
At California Middle School, we love celebrating students who demonstrate what it means to be a STARR student!
STARR stands for:
🌟 Students with a great Attitude
🌟 Respect
🌟 Responsibility
Students who meet the following requirements each semester will earn an invitation to the STARR Party:
✅ Fewer than 5 absences
Medical absences are exempt with a doctor's note.
Doctor's notes must be turned in to the office at least one week before the STARR Party.
Students sent home by the school nurse and verified immediate family funeral absences are also exempt.
✅ No D's or F's
Students must have no D's or F's on mid-quarter progress reports or quarter grades.
✅ No discipline referrals
Students who receive a discipline referral during the semester will not be eligible for that semester's STARR Party.
✅ No outstanding middle school obligations
All uniforms, library books, Chromebook fines, and other school obligations must be taken care of.
🎉 Why STARR?
The STARR Party is designed to recognize students for their hard work, positive attitude, responsibility, respect, and good citizenship. It's a celebration of the choices students make every day to be successful!
Didn't qualify this semester? Don't worry! Eligibility resets each semester, giving every student a fresh opportunity to earn an invitation to the next STARR Party.
⭐ Keep shining, Pintos! It's a great day to be a Pinto!

Welcome back, CMS families!
Due to some shipping delays, students participating in the CMS School Supply Program will receive their school supplies during the first week of school rather than all supplies being available on the first day.
We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience and understanding. We will make every effort to ensure that all supplies are distributed to students as soon as possible.
We also appreciate your support and grace as we begin this new school supply program at CMS. As we navigate the first year, we are learning throughout the process and will use that experience to continue improving the program for future school years.
We wish all of our CMS students and families a wonderful school year!
Thank you for your continued support,
CMS PTSA

👕 Middle School Fun Fact Friday: Dress Code Edition! 👟
🚨 Breaking News: Your outfit has to pass the CMS “ready for school” test… not the “just rolled out of bed and grabbed the first thing I found” test! 😂
We know fashion is important (especially when you’re entering the “big kid school”), but our dress code helps keep everyone comfortable, focused, and ready to learn!
Here are the basics every Pinto should know:
👕 Shirts: Must cover shoulder blades and your midsection (no exposed stomach or sides), be properly hemmed, and should not show cleavage, bras, or have torn underarms.
👟 Shoes: Shoes must be worn at all times, and don’t forget — tennis shoes are required every day for PE!
🧢 Hats & Head Coverings: Save the hats for outside — no head coverings are allowed in the building.
🩳 Shorts/Pants/Skirts: Must be a respectable length, with an inseam of at least 5 inches (no skin showing above the 5-inch mark). Track-style shorts are allowed as long as everything stays covered. 😉
🙈 Undergarments: Keep those covered — they’re called undergarments for a reason!
🚫 Clothing Messages: Clothing should not advertise or promote drugs, alcohol, tobacco, profanity, or contain inappropriate, disrespectful, or gang-related images or wording.
🎨 Body & Face Paint: Save the creative masterpieces for the football games — not the school day. 😉
Remember, the goal is simple: dress for success, be comfortable, and be ready to learn! So before you walk out the door, ask yourself: “Would this pass the CMS dress code check?” 👀😂
We can’t wait to see our Pintos looking their best! 💙🐴
